Some people Travel to the Peruvian Amazons for many reasons. Certainly, all drugs utilized in the traditional medicine by doctors derives from the profound knowledge of herbs; something that I have called the Herbal Power. There are many collateral effects with those man made drugs or medicines. It appears that when they cure one thing they end by damaging many vital organs and/or metabolic functions of our body. This is not the case with natural medicine, with the exception of overdose.
You could be amazed ... of the healing effects of the Herbal Power. This is the first post in these series, as people are becoming more conscious about the need to preserve our nature and are experiencing the effects of global warming, they are looking for preventive ways to remain as healthy as possible, exercise is just part of the equation, nutrition and rest are the other pillars of health. Herbal teas can be as part of nutrition. So Peru have other types of tourism, they go to Machu Picchu but also go to the amazons, to experience the "Ayahuasca" ... for learning the healing knowledge of the Shamans.... I hope one day you can also could benefit from this ancient knowledge as well.
