Kurzweil and de Garis Are Telling You Prepare To Evolve: The End of Humankind At Least As We Understood Ourselves

Hope this elucidated the use:
Non-free media use rationale – non-free poster–  for Transcendent Man (film)
Description This is a poster for Transcendent Man (film).
The poster art copyright is believed to belong to the distributor of the item promoted, the publisher of the item promoted or the graphic artist.
Source May be found at the following website: IMPAwards
Article Transcendent Man (film)
Portion used The entire poster: because the image is poster art, a form of product packaging or service marketing, the entire image is needed to identify the product or service, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image.
Low resolution? The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original poster. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as counterfeit artwork, pirate versions or for uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.
Purpose of use Main infobox. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work, product or service for which it serves as poster art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work product or service and know they have found what they are looking for.Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the creator providing graphic design services, and in turn the marketing of the promoted item.
Replaceable? As poster art, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the same artwork or poster would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary.
Other information Use of the poster art in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.

Hugo de Garis

Be prepare for the "Artilect Wars", the wars between god-like artificial or synthetic intellects and those who are crazy enough to want to build them.  The idea comes, in part, from the Australian scientist, Hugo de Garis, who has already received half million dollars to build an artificial brain from China. Here some of his quotes:

"Humans should not stand in the way of a higher form of evolution. These machines are godlike. It is human destiny to create them."
— as quoted in New York Times Magazine of 1 August 1999, speaking of the 'artilects' of the future.

"I believe that the ideological disagreements between these two groups on this issue will be so strong, that a major "artilect" war, killing billions of people, will be almost inevitable before the end of the 21st century."
 — speaking in 2005 of the Cosmist/Terran conflict.
"Twenty years from now, the author envisages the brain builder industry as being one of the world's top industries, comparable with oil, automobile, and construction
prediction made in 1996.
